Join us for a real northern lights hunt — for emotions that will stay with you forever. We drive out of town, away from the lights, in search of this unique natural phenomenon: we wait for clear skies, photograph you on a professional camera, warm up with hot tea and northern liqueurs — and admire the true wonder of the polar sky together.
We pick you up right from your hotel or apartment and take you to the best dark spots on the Kola Peninsula, where the chances of clear skies are highest. We keep an eye on the solar-activity and cloud-cover forecast to choose the most promising night.

An aurora hunt is a night-time adventure, and its timing is flexible: we adapt to the weather and the forecast. We confirm the exact departure time on the day of the hunt. Here is how the evening usually unfolds.

The aurora-hunting season on the Kola Peninsula runs from late August to April, when the nights turn dark. The lights are most often caught between September and March. We head out every evening the weather allows.
The northern lights are a living natural phenomenon, and no one in the world can promise them 100%: it all comes down to solar activity and the weather, and nature is beyond our control. But we do everything in our power: we watch the forecast, pick the clearest night and take you to the best dark spots far from the city lights. And if the aurora does not show up this time — a repeat hunt costs just 3 000 ₽ instead of 4 000 ₽.
We confirm the exact departure time on the day of the hunt — it depends on the forecast. We usually set out between 8:00 and 9:30 pm and return around 1:00 am. Sometimes the hunt runs until 2:00 or 3:00 am if solar activity is weak or the sky is overcast — we wait and catch a clear window.
Dress very warmly and in layers: a warm windproof jacket, thermal underwear, warm trousers, a hat, gloves and waterproof winter boots. It is colder out in nature at night than in the city, and you will be standing still. Bring a thermos with a hot drink — even though we serve tea and northern liqueurs. The first aurora hunt costs 4 000 ₽ per person, a repeat hunt 3 000 ₽ per person. Payment is made before the trip — in cash or by bank transfer through your banking app.

We went to Kirovsk with the Aurora Trip team in September. We loved everything. Fascinating stories. We learned so much. And of course the mountains! They are magnificent! The weather was superb. Amazing that we got such good weather in September — I thought it would be snowy. Next time we will go to Teriberka with the same team. But that will be in winter!
We went out with the guys to look for the northern lights last year, and I loved the friendly atmosphere of the trip — it felt like we had gathered as friends for a photo hunt. Alexandra shared all sorts of interesting scientific facts and legends, we chatted a lot, laughed and had a great time, and on top of it all we managed to catch the long-awaited aurora! The whole sky glowed) The guys also knew which spots are least likely to be cloudy, so our chances were high! I am attaching a photo, but in person it is far more captivating, because the whole glow shimmers in a bright dance — thank you, I definitely recommend it.
